- If you are planning to drink alcoholic beverages, wait until you are finished shooting.
- Follow the instructions of the range management at all times.
- Practice safe gun handling at all times.
- Wear eye protection and hearing protection while on the trap range.
- Carry your gun unloaded and with its action open except when at the shooting stations.
- Keep your gun pointed downrange while at the shooting stations.
- Keep your gun unloaded while moving from one shooting station to the next.
- Unload your gun any time the shooting is interrupted.
- The maximum gun gauge allowed is 12 gauge. The maximum shot size allowed is 7½. Don't use high power hunting loads. If unsure of the suitability of your loads, check with the range management.
- Load only as many shells as you will shoot in one turn. If you are shooting singles or handicaps, load only one shell. If you are shooting doubles, load two shells.
Notes:
We do not have paid help at the range. Pick up your own empties after each round. This is easier if you use either a shooting vest or a belt with carriers for shells and empties.
We generally follow the Amateur Trapshooting Association rules at our practice sessions.
